About Our Neighbor, Coffee Talk

A True Neighborhood Coffee House

Coffee Talk is our next door neighbor and we could not be more happy about it.  The laid-back coffee house is bustling not only with students but, nearby professionals and neighborhood locals. Coffee Talk has been around for 23 years caffeinating Kaimuki. The 2 story building is not hard to miss on Waialae and 12 Ave. It is far from ordinary with their vintage decor, high ceilings, secluded nooks to cozy up in, and even a sunroom.

Let’s Talk Coffee– they serve a wide variety of drinks (coffee, espresso, teas, and other specialty beverages). You can find unique lattes such as Red Velvet, Cinnamon Roll, Cake Batter, and Marble Mocha, just to name a few. If you really want to feel the buzz, they have Nitro Cold Brew. It is AMAZING.

Let’s Talk Food– From sandwiches, scones, acai bowls to coffee cakes, there is something to fill your craving. All the food and pastries are made fresh every day. The best part is that the pastries are not always the same every visit, so you can always try something new. However, there are a few options that are customer favorites which will consistently be baked. Owner, Liz Schwartz says that people know what time certain pastries come out the oven and wait for them to come out.

Coffee Talk used to host Punk shows in the past where they opened up space for the children and young adults to express themselves. It is a safe place to find creativity in the community. Whether you are studying for that exam, working remote, or just passing by, this space leaves you feeling with a sense of inspiration.

Schwartz is very community-minded and pays attention to what people want, which has lead Coffee Talk to great success. There are many coffee shops around town to get your daily dose of caffeine but nothing beats the experience. This is something we live by at The Surfing Pig, and we highly suggest visiting our neighbors at Coffee Talk to experience that extra aloha.

Nitro Cold Brew is a must-try!

Grab and go options are available too, perfect for lunch if you are in the area.
