How to Try Kono’s at The Surfing Pig

Did you know The Surfing Pig started with the idea of creating an elevated menu of Kono’s? There, the sister restaurant was born from the success of the award-winning casual restaurant, Kono’s specialized in their 12hr slow-roasted Kalua Pig.

With the renowned kalua pig, owner, Stan Glander had one rule for the Chef– create some dishes with Kono’s Kalua Pig.

Some dishes are more obvious than the others, but you can find the highly praised Kalua Pig is several dishes.

Not so obvious- The Brick Chicken’s fried rice’s secret is that it has some juicy kalua pig inside

The fried rice was such a favorite that we created a new dish, Porchetta with Sriracha Fried Rice.

Do you love tacos? We got just the perfect pair for you. 1 lightly battered fish taco with sour cream drizzle & pickled onion. 1 Kono’s signature Kalua Pig taco with bourbon onion sour cream, served with pico de gallo

If you prefer burgers over tacos, this is the small plate for you. Kono’s signature Kalua Pig slider with Asian slaw and one beef slider with bourbon onion. Pair with some Kirin on draft and you will leave quite satisfied.

Looking at the Flatbread there is no surprise with the heaping pile of kalua pig on top that this is an elevated menu item with Kono’s siganture kalua pig. The flat bread is made in-house daily and topped with garlic oil, bourbon onion, braised mushroom, cheese and Kono’s signature Kalua Pig.
